The second half of our unofficial Friendsapalooza began when our good friends Richard and Dorianne arrived in Amsterdam the day before Wade’s departure. It was so wonderful to see their faces!
When Matt and I moved to Amsterdam, we were under the impression that we’d only be living here until September 1st. Nothing is official yet, but the word on the street is that we’ll actually be here until the end of November! It’s super exciting, but I do wish we’d known earlier because then we wouldn’t have been trying to squeeze in so much at once. That’s exactly what happened in these last two weeks. We had five of our closest friends in and out of our apartment, their visits all overlapping with one another, from Tuesday, June 21st until this past Tuesday, July 5th. It was truly a Friendsapalooza.
We’re officially in our new apartment and I couldn’t be happier. It was so nice to finally unpack all our stuff and get settled. We’re staying in Amsterdam this weekend, so I’m looking forward to exploring the city with Matt. Then, I’m heading to Paris on Monday! So excited!

I’ll be documenting our summer abroad in Amsterdam here on All The Single Socks, but did you know that you can also follow along on Snapchat? It took me a while to learn how to use it, but now that I’ve figured it out, I can’t stop! You’ll get a daily dose of what it’s like living in Amsterdam, tons of cat pictures, and funny selfies.

A few months ago, Matt’s employer offered him the opportunity to work on a project in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It would be a short-term stay, an estimated four to six months.
Of course, my first question was, “Can I go?”, to which they replied, “Yes, Mrs. Vera, you can.”
So I am!
