It’s been a little busy around here! Last weekend, Matt and I went to Zandvoort, which is the closest beach to Amsterdam. It hadn’t occurred to me that going to the beach in the Netherlands would even be an option, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out how close it is.
After a short 30 minute train ride to the train station in Zandvoort, we walked a few blocks west and arrived at the beach. So quick and easy!
We decided to stop at one of the restaurants along the beach to eat and grab a few beers. Almost every place had beach chairs to rent, so we rented a set for €10 and lounged for a few hours after lunch. Apparently the rental was only supposed to be for an hour, but no one ever came to check on us.
The water was super cold so we only dipped our toes, but the sun was shining and it felt great to lay out. I read my book and Matt fell asleep with his shirt on, which resulted in some funny tan lines. Fortunately, we’re headed to Barcelona this evening with plans to hit the beach tomorrow, so hopefully he can even out his tan.
In between all the fun we’ve been having, I also managed to recently squeeze in a trip to Paris. Stay tuned for that post, as well as a recap of our trip to Barcelona!
